To get right material and guidance for inorganic chemistry has always been very big headache. You run here and there . Somtime to students who already has cleared jee and sometime teachers. We never get easy answer. Funny part is that every one suggests same reference books and almost same methodology. Fact remains same If you want good rank in jee advance, you can't afford to leave inorganic chemistry.
Following are some tips to tackle inorganic chemistry which are tested. Key lies in following these steps. Most important is revision part .
Strictly follow jee mains and advance syllabus
Refer closely to NCERT
NCERT is a good start to Inorganic Chemistry and it was sufficient for JEE mains till 2019. But 2020 onward its not sufficient even for mains. So its not sufficient both for mains and advance. You need to refer other books alongwith ncert. These books have a lot of concepts which are already there in ncert and this will help you when you start these books.
Reference books
J. D. Lee : Must
Atkins and Shiver (optional)
Huyee ( optional)
Practice
Solve old jee mains and jee advance questions after finishing a topic
Revision plan
Most important of all.
Make short notes having keywords only . Don't make elaborate note. If you can't make short crisp note better not to make it. Instead underline ncert and lee in first reading itself.
Devide
Devide inorganic chemistry in two parts. One which is conceptual and other which is core memorization. Make chemical bonding super solid. Draw lot of structure which also helps in organic chemistry. Periodic properties and coordination chemistry is mix of both concept and memorization. Block properties is core memorization.
Last but most important. Restrict yourself to syllabus. Otherwise you will be wasting your time over non important areas. Best way to focus is religiously following syllabus and solving old jee mains and advance questions.
